Getting smart with your work-out routine

My work out journey has been interesting to say the least. Getting in shape has never been a problem however, maintaining weight has been my biggest hurdle.  I have come to the understanding that genetically I have a very high metabolism. This means I can eat a lot more than most people without gaining weight. I can loss weight by doing simple activities and even resting. This may seem like heaven for most but for me and people like me it is frustrating, not a complement and even could raise health consumes. On top of having a fast metabolism I generally do not eat a lot of large meals in one seating. When I do it is usually whole foods like fruits, veggies, homemade soups and so on. This type of diet is great however I would need to consume larges amounts of it to see any increase in my weight.

My BMI (Body Mass Index) has always been at 0 body fat. I have always had just enough body weight were I was not under weight but with one bad week of not eating enough I easily would have been under weight.

So, to change the narrative I have decided to get a better understanding of my genetic make-up to see what it is my body really needs to thrive. This is what I have concluded.

First, I need some type of supplement that will slow down my metabolism long enough for my food to settle and produce calories. For food I need to eat at least 3 full meals a day, 4 protein shakes, have 3 snaking periods and a protein bar daily.

And lastly regarding my work-out routine I need to focus on weight training. Weight training expansions and builds the muscle. When you are trying to gain healthy weight weight training is what you would need to do. On the other hand if you were trying to loss weight you would need to focus on cardio.

So, how are you or what did you do to gain the weight and maintain it? This is a type of struggle you do not here of very often but none the less it is a real hard time for some. So, share you stories below and follow me for the next year on this journey for idea's, inspiration and just a buddy to do this with!
