How to repair damaged, dry hair

So, every 7 years or so your body changes. Yes, that includes your hair as well. So, I won't bore you with the extended version of my hair story just yet 😎. I will make a separate super in-depth page with video and scary pictures (lol) explaining all about my hair journey! Today though I am going to be sharing with you my top tips on how I got my hair back vibrant and healthy! I'm still on this journey to super healthy lush hair so if you would like to come along and do it with ya girl, I would love to have you ❤. This is going to be fun because unlike most challenges the host usually already has pretty healthy hair and a good amount of length. So, the fact that I am literally with you guys on repairing my hair we are really doing it together. I am at armpit length (straight)  and neck length (curly). The goal is to get to armpit length curly !!! This will be a journey because I think we all know about shrinkage and how fun that is but we can do this! I will be doing monthly check-ins for sure and if you want to stay tuned more often follow my Instagram below; I am there more... only because it's faster but I LOVE OUR BLOG!

Anyways, let's get back to why we are here.

Here are my top tips that I am using to do this challenge and whip my hair back to its healthiest state!

Tip's

  1. You already know this one! Drink more water. My serious people out there you know water is a must! No product in the world can fix, heat damage or internal dryness. This can only can be fixed with water. If you have is suvirly dry, brittal or you are sedding hair way to much; you need water. To fix this quickly you need to jump start your hydration levels in your body. Do my "a gallon a day for 7 day's process and by the end of that your skin/ eyes should look more clear and you hair should feel (not look) but feel softer. After this, you have to stay on it. I would suggest going to 2 bottles of water a day and going this for 2 weeks. You should be used to it and moving on to doing 3 bottles of water a day; then 4 bottles a day till you get to 6 bottles a day.

I have my handy dandy water bottle and it helps a lot. I will link the Etsy account I got it from and my Litter bottle is from Tuesday Morning.

  2. Eat - You should focus on what you are eating. Growing your hair from the inside out is a key factor in getting healthier hair. Take-out is ok if it is unprocessed foods then eat away. But most people do not go for those options or you leave in a food desert. So, to get straight to it and cut out the middle man; here is the food you need to include in your diet now.

    On the grocery list always
    - Bananas
    - Eggs
    - Salmon
    - Seafood (generally)
    - Oils
    - Olives
    - Sweet Potatoes
    - Nuts
    - Nut Butters
    - Green Veggies (prevents premocher gray hairs)
    - Fruits
    - Tea (peppermint, green, black)
    - Raw Oats

  3. Next, you want to sweat, so you need to exercise. This can be fun! What you do you like to do... You can walk, run, do yoga, piloties, take a activity class, ski, skate board, sufe, play/run with your dog, clean your house more often, traditional working out, 20 min home work out sessions, you can party/raves lol (yes you jump alot at ravors) not practical for ever day of course but you get the idea. You can have fun and should be having so much fun in life in general while unknowingly growing your hair. If your happy and healthy your body will reflect it. Remember that!

  4. So, you need to also work on scalp care. This is simple no worries again. Just make sure you co-wash as needed but you clarify your hair with shampoo once a month! This is needed because if your not sure if your scalp is clogged or has build-up you know you always clarify once a month so it will be unclogged regardless. Your scalp needs oxygen just like a plant. If the plant does not have oxygen it will die or not grow as strong and healthy as it could. Side Note: wigs, sew-in's and things like that are ok but just remember to get it washed or redone when recommend. This is so your scalp is recleaned and not sitting for months with pores that are clogged  & dirty.

  5. My favorite thing to do is oil my hair and scalp. You can choose to do this at night, in the morning, in the evening,... to your ends or to your scalp. Whichever you decide is personal but just do it. Curly hair is naturally dry so if you find your ends are dry more than your scalp do that. If your scalp is most of the time the dryest thing on your head oil that more. Or do simply do both.

    Oils I recommend ❤❤❤
    - Extra virgin olive oil (cold-pressed)
    - Grapeseed oil
    - Jojoba oil
    - Rosa Oil
    - Jamaica black castor oil
    - Avocado oil
    - Almond oil
    - Tea tree oil
    - Peppermint oil
    - Lavender oil

  6. Let's also do some protective styling. This will just guarmently are hair stay protected while on this journey. I would recommend twists, sew-in's (with limittions) wigs (with limitations) , buns, fish tail brains, pig-tail braids, low and high buns, hair done and free for 2 day (this is for relaxing of the hair and oxygen flow). Im letting my hair done Saturdays and Sundays 😃😎
And that is it! While for now anyway lol. So, you guys let's take a Sunday where we get all our supplies and do our journeying, write our schedule out for the week or month and get going! I so excited and if you are doing this with me drop a comment below saying #naturalglow2021 !

Also, after your journey come back here and let us know what some of your meals or workout routine ❤✌
